What to do in August in Tirana
August is the last month of summer in Tirana. It is the month when most local citizens leave the city and rest by the sea. But as the locals go, foreign tourists abound. This year, Tirana has been full of tourists who prefer open-air events.
August brings several artists to Tirana, such as Dire Straits, Jason Derulo, and Gypsi Kings, as well as massive events like the Color Day Festival.
Recommendations in August
It’s a hot month, so the best way to avoid the heat in Tirana is to escape to Dajti Mountain or areas near the river and swimming pools.
In Dajt, take the children to Adventure Park, which is cool and the best way to keep them in good sports shape.
Tirana has about ten lakes where you can enjoy a coffee near fresh surroundings.
However, Durrës is only 30 minutes away, and you can enjoy the beach daily. The ticket costs only 200 lek if you take the bus.
Tours and activities
We suggest authentic tours of Tirana, such as the folk clothing tour, the embroidery tour, the wine and brandy tour, etc. We also recommend daily tours to Bovillë, Tujan, i Erzenit Canyon, Pellumbasi Cave, Petrela Castle, etc.
A trip to these areas allows communities to host tourists. Don’t forget to stop for a coffee or a meal in these areas, feel the rural hospitality, and enjoy homemade food. We support sustainable tourism, which provides income to the community and does not pollute the environment.
Where to eat
Morsi Tirana is an Italian restaurant that serves delicious food. In the evening, you can also try fantastic cocktails. Habitat restaurant is an enjoyable environment on Kavaja Street, where seafood predominates. At TEG, we suggest Amo Sushi and Veranda restaurant. Dajti’s balcony is always an excellent opportunity to enjoy food and drinks.
