Romantics at the Opera
A magical journey, which leads us to the beginning of the 19th century and to the middle of it, to the period of romanticism, during which the works of Schumann and Mendelssohn began to appear on the stage!
The concert will open with the World Premiere of the work “Morea” for violin and orchestra by the internationally well-known Albanian composer Thoma Simaku (winner of the “Česk Zadeja” award from the Ministry of Culture in 2022), where the soloist will be the outstanding violinist, Leonard Simaku.
Pianist Costantino Catena, who comes from the collaboration with the conservator Giuseppe Martucci Salerno, will play the piano concerto in A minor by Robert Schumann, one of the most representative works of the piano of the Romantic period.
In the last part of the concert, Symphony No. 3 by Felix Mendelssohn, the German composer, a contemporary of Robert Schumann, transports us to the mystical landscapes of Scotland.
With the symphony orchestra under the direction of the Polish conductor Rafał Janiak, we close a September full of concerts.
